Are you a rings, necklaces, brooch, earrings, bracelets or jewelry-free kind of person?
Personally, I am a rings and necklace kind of girl. I never got my ears pierced and I don’t know if I ever will. Brooches are nifty but I am top heavy so my boobs don’t need any help and I just tend to forget about bracelets – even my medical ID bracelet, oops! I am always on the look out for chunky, gaudy, unique rings and dainty dangling necklaces.

I have a Style Inquiry for my readers.
SILVER

GOLD

I used to only wear silver (as a teen) and now I only want to wear gold. I love gold so much; it’s just so bold and eye-catching. Looks great accompanied with fuchsia and cherry red, too.
Which do you prefer: Silver or Gold?

My mother and I went to Michael’s craft/art supply store (always a dangerous place for out wallets) and my mom purchased this quilting/needlepoint mesh hoop for around $2.00. When we arrived home, she tacked it up to the wall with a lightweight scarf behind it and proceeded to hook her favorite earrings on the netting. The result? Instant, inexpensive, artsy looking earring organizer!

Have you done anything crafty lately?

Shopaholic Saturday is once again brought to you by my friend Liz, aka SOON-TO-BE-DOCTOR Liz, who was gracious enough to take the time away from curing cancer to contribute to Glass of Win. Liz was the kind of Smart Girl in high school who didn’t lord it over others, and was also a good sport about being Sailor Mars to my Super Sailor Moon. IN PUBLIC. She is also the kind of girl who will pass notes written entirely in Elvish. Thank you for everything, Liz! -R
I’ve wanted to be a scientist since elementary school and ever since then I’ve been on the nerdy side. My high school friends put up with me telling them that “oranges are composed of specialized plant hairs” or called yogurt pops “frozen bacteria cultures on a stick.” …I’m surprised that they were still my friends after that. Anyway, I never grew out of being fan-girly about science, especially biochemistry and molecular biology. While not all science is biology, here are some delightful sciencey finds:

Please welcome my friend Liz as she hosts Shopaholic Saturday. Thank you, Liz! -R
Used to be a unicorn girl up until middle school, which is when I read Patricia C. Wrede’s “Dealing with Dragons” and realized that dragons can be more fun. They can span the range of being cute-and-cuddly to downright badass. I still have a soft spot for unicorns, but dragons are where tend to I spend my money:
