I was picked to participate in the Free Lunch web series from KCET, L.A.’s public broadcasting channel. It was a true honor to have been chosen as I am a rabid fangirl of their programming as well as the direction their website has taken since parting ways with PBS. I think KCET has been doing a smashing job on their own and I love talking to everyone who runs the Twitters, Facebook groups and blogs. It has been a dream of mine to collaborate or do something for them and when this opportunity arose, I was ecstatic!

They asked me where I’d like to go for Free Lunch – which strives to showcase local, independent and low cost food options around Los Angeles – and I told them there was nowhere I’d rather try than Alhambra – where Asian mom and pop eateries dominate over every chain, corporate factory food. They narrowed it down to three selections and I went with Banh Mi My Tho – which specializes in banh mi, a French inspired Vietnamese sandwich. I’ll leave the rest to KCET to tell – I just wanted to showcase the makeup I wore for the filming.
