Best Friends Animal Society Pet Adoption Festival

Years ago my mother was taking a historical art class and her assignment took her to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). When we arrived, however, the grassy knolls between LACMA and the La Brea Tar Pits was covered in pavilions and adorable animals all wanting a new home. So my mom and I detoured from her assignment for a little over an hour and played with the adoptable animals. We hoped to one day return and this year we finally made it to the Best Friends Animal Society Pet Adoption Fair.

Come meet some of the animals:

Drake – she is a happy, friendly mutt just waiting for you to adopt her! She can be found at the Cage Free Canine Rescue.

Camille – Shy and gentle three year old who once had a family but they, unfortunately, fell apart and had to give Camille back to a rescue group. I believe she’s at the Dawg Squad.

Lola – a happy, friendly pitbull

Tony – a pitbull/Great Dane mix

Coco the Rottweiler

Gorgeous big dog whose name I unfortunately forgot to write down. Duke? He looks like a Duke.

Storm – a blind but supremely chill, calm Chihuahua found at the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter. ID: A4202833

It is my opinion that everyone should have a black cat at least once in their lifetime.

This is only a fraction of the hundreds of pets that were up for adoption. Had I the space and money, I would have adopted a few somebodies! It broke my heart to see so many animals needing a home.
