Today I woke up with a serious case of the BLAH’S that were threatening to worsen and ruin my weekend. I decided to take this bout of depression by the throat and give it a good throttle; I was not going to let it take me over and make me climb back into my bed and be miserable. So I got dolled up, grabbed a blanket, my boyfriend, some lunch and headed to our local park.

This was a great time to test out some colors I ordered from Aromaleigh.
I used: Tamarind (base color), First Kiss (second) & Dragonfly (top). They’re shiny without being too flashy, the perfect daytime colors.
I’m sorry that Aromaleigh has decided to close shop; you can still grab some of their nifty mineral makeup with a 35% coupon code at the website.

I made us some sandwiches, homemade natural lemonade, and packed up some snacks & fruits. After we ate, we laid on the picnic blanket and watched the clouds drift by:

We took a leisure stroll back home, weaving in and out of the beautiful neighborhoods near our park, pointing out which houses we liked best. I remembered to stop and smell the roses:

It’s amazing what some sunshine, cloud gazing and time away from the indoors (especially the computer) can do for the human spirit.
You look beautiful, Rachael! The colour of your dress! The exquisite eyeshadow! Perfection.
When I’m feeling blah I DEFINITELY turn to my boyfriend (he always makes everything better!), because he will always be the voice of reason/the perspective that I need, or failing that, will make me laugh – but otherwise I like to go for a really long walk in the sunshine, watch ‘Seinfeld’ on repeat (I can’t help but laugh!) or call my sister. I hope you’re feeling better, lovely <3

I am feeling better, thank you! Especially since a quick getaway is around the corner and I’m part of a wedding <3 Oh, I love weddings.
