Are you a girl (or a guy!) who prefers a little elevation to your everyday footwear, or do you prefer to remain as close to Earth as possible? Of course, I’m talking about the long-lasting shoe debate of HEELS versus FLATS.
Personally, I have problems with both. Let’s try to narrow it down
PRO FLATS:
As close to bare feet as a shoe can get (without being flip-flops)
Thousands of cute styles
Even the cheap flats come in a wide variety of adorable
Style depending, can be worn casual or classy
CON FLATS:
Rarely equipped with arch support, which leads to sharp shooting pains up my legs because I have incredibly high arches.
Come off easily
Easy wear and tear
No room for arch support inserts

CON HIGH HEELS
Again with the arch support (or there lack of)
Pain is rarely, if ever, worth looking good
Chances of tripping and breaking a bone are VERY high
At 5′ 8″, I certainly don’t need the elevation from heels
PRO HIGH HEELS
Hundreds of thousands appealing designs
Can be used as a weapon in emergencies
Sexy
There is something about heels that makes me want to press myself up against a store window and whisper sweet nothings not unlike Gollum.

Seriously, what is it about some of us who are willing to compromise comfort and public humiliation at the risk of major shoe wear related accidents for the sake of pretty feet? Then again, I have met dozens of people who declare they are more comfortable in heels than they are barefoot, let alone in flats. I AM GREEN WITH ENVY.

Of course, many pro-flats might throw in that there are many negative side effects to a near-lifetime of heels and you should repent before it’s too late, head on to your local Payless and purchase your flat salvation to save your sole, amen.

For me, it’s draw. While I can work easier with high heels, I’m still going to reach a certain point of discomfort. I think I’ll just do as the Hobbits and go up the mountain barefoot.

I love wearing high heels, but only for special occasions. I have weak ankles and am prone to tripping on practically anything, so flats and sneakers are my shoes of choice.

I say, most definitely flats. They have a certain very intelligent vibe that says I can be adorable AND comfortable! HA!

My ankles give way very easily, too. I once sprained my ankle wearing platforms and had to call in friends to come pick me up! Oy, I’m such a gimpy klutz! thanks for commenting <3
To be honest, I wear running shoes for my everyday work footwear. I do wear flats for more casual weekend wear, but definitely heels for glitzy formal occasions. I like the look of heels, but the balls of my feet kill me if I’m walking in heels for more than 2 hours.
…boots have been a nice fashion trend for me since I found that they can look quite nice and also have room for comfy cushions and arch supports!
Oh, yea, boots and athletic shoes (along with wedges & flip-flops) will get their own posts soon enough =D
