LOTD: Unicorn Earmuffs

When I was scouring Etsy for the best unicorn theme finds for my unicorn edition of Shopaholic Saturday feature, I ran across these adorable earmuffs made by Chloe, the Swiss woman behind Zygomatics, an Etsy-based store chock-filled with adorable handmade goodies. My friend Liz gave the earmuffs to me as a Christmas gift. They arrived just before the rainy season hit Los Angeles, and my ears have never been so toasty warm! Thank you, Liz! <3

  1. QUESTION: What do you wear to stay warm in the winter?

It depends on the level of cold and the amount of planned outdoor activity. But if it’s as cold as it can be and I’m stranded in it, I have a few key items (barring obvious things like coat, hat, and gloves):

    * leggings or otherwise long-john style thermals that can be layered over easily
    * arm warmers – alone if I plan to be texting and need my fingers free, or over gloves if it’s bitterly cold
    * the Turtle’s Neck (from the good people at Turtle Fur) – a skiing/snowboarding find, but just as brilliant for a cold day in the city

  2. Hee, I’m glad you like them and get to use them! They looked so forlorn on Etsy right before Christmas. =)

During the winter, I generally wear boots, knee-high socks[!], scarfs, and a variety of windproof jackets. Hats are also nice for staying warm.
