Los Angeles Twestival

Last night was the Los Angeles Twestival, an event for Twitter users (though non-Tweeps were more than welcome!) to get together and put the interwebs to good use by holding a charity fundraiser. The money from the ticket sales went to two charities, Chrysalis helping the economically disadvantaged and homeless find jobs and Los Angeles regional food bank.

I talked my friend Steffie into going with me and we went Metro-style because that’s how Steffie and I roll (until Steffie gets her drivers license, of course)

Despite being situated in a mall (excuse me as I take a moment to ::shudder::), the club Level 3 was a nice venue. It was pretty swanky inside. However, the event itself fell rather flat for me. The entertainment was so-so (IMHO), and the only food available had no options for the non-meat eating inclined. The event itself had the feeling of being thrown together at the last minute.

Steffie and I ducked out a little early and decided to hit up Johnny Rocket’s for some late-night grub:

As the money goes to worthy causes, I will probably give a future LA Twestival another shot. It is a good deed that the folks behind LA Twestival are doing, and that is more important than anything else.
